Herouni Space Center is a national center for astronomers, researchers, engineers, scholars, futurists, and artists. Based on Mount Aragats, the center is founded on the pioneering spirit, experiments, and discoveries of Professor Paris Herouni, a leading Armenian physicist and engineer. Herouni's Mirror Radio telescope, the first Radio-Optical Telescope (ROT-54) in the world and the only system of its kind, stands at a height of 1,711m and is the pinnacle of our space and research hub. First operated in 1986, the ROT-54 has been restored to full performance over recent years. Our goal is to harness the power of this unique antenna to advance our knowledge and understanding of space and science for the benefit of all humankind.

Herouni Space Center is founded on the pioneering spirit, experiments, and discoveries of Professor Paris Herouni, a leading Armenian physicist and engineer, Herouni's Mirror Radio telescope, the first Radio-Optical Telescope (ROT-54) in the world and the only system of its kind, stands on Mount Aragats at a height of 1,711m as a powerful reminder of what we can achieve when we dream big and of how much more there is to know, It's not just our heritage: it's a driving force that propels us forward and an invitation to discovery

First operated in 1986, the ROT-54 has been lovingly restored to full performance over recent years. Our goal is to harness the power of this unique antenna to advance our knowledge and understanding of space and science for the benefit of all humankind. The idea was sparked in 2012, and since 2017 we have been working to develop a national center of research and discovery for astronomers, researchers, engineers, scholars, futurists, and artists. The vision for Herouni Space Center is a thriving ecosystem of learning, inspiration, and creativity, with the ROT-54 as its beating heart.
